For quite a few years now, folks from St. Stephen’s have helped with intake for the Salvation Army Back to School program, which supplies low-income kids with school supplies for the coming school year. This year we’ll be working August 3-5. Volunteers will verify client information as families arrive to pick up school supplies. (Eligibility will already be checked.)

We are asking for three volunteers per two-hour shift. Shifts are scheduled from 10:00–12:00 am and from 12:00–2:00 pm each day. There is an extra 4:00–6:00 pm shift on Wednesday afternoon.

Volunteer sign-up sheets can be found on the doughnut table in the Great Hall. Those interested in being a volunteer need to sign up prior to July 26th. Monetary donations to purchase the supplies are welcome and also due by the 26th. Envelopes for your gift are available at the sign-up table. If giving a monetary donation please be sure your check is notated Back to School.
