Summer Sabbatical

The Rector's Blog · May 28, 2025

With the end of the school year, we come again to summer, to a time of vacation and rest, when we think of beaches and fireworks, grilling outside and going to summer festivals. And for St. Stephen’s, this year is full of anticipation and renewal, with activities and opportunities throughout the summer.

This comes with a temporary leave-taking, as I head out on sabbatical next week and will return in September.

Join me in a summer sabbatical – learning and resting, playing and creating – and make renewal through art and creativity a response to the madness around us. Seek God’s grace in walks and movement, in music and art, in food and fellowship, and know that you are loved and a source of love in your community. And when we reconnect in the fall, we will all have stories to tell, pictures to share, and inspired hearts full of new gratitude.

May Christ’s peace be with you!
