St. Stephen’s gathers each year in January for a congregational meeting. This is an open meeting of the congregation. You don’t have to be a member to attend.
In 2022, our annual meeting will occur on Sunday, January 23 at the end of the 10:00 service.
How to participate
This year’s meeting will be an experiment in both/and. We will be gathering in-person in the worship space, on Facebook, and Zoom. There are benefits and challenges to each of these options. Knowing this ahead of time should make for a better experience.
If you join on Facebook, after you find the live feed for the 10:00 service, you don’t have to do anything! You will be able to join the meeting, and see and hear the speakers. However, your participation will be limited to the comment section. The feed will begin at 10:00 am. Please make your presence known by listing yourself present in the comments.
If you choose to join on Zoom, the feed will go live after the announcement time during the service. A host will help facilitate the experience. We ask that those who log in on Zoom make good use of the chat function: to ask questions and gather information. Sound will be less reliable, however. You have more opportunity to engage in the meeting, but it may be harder to hear or see what is going on. The Zoom room will open around 10:45 am.
If you join us in-person, know that our meeting will be more streamlined than in years past. Masks are required and food and drink is discouraged.
Budget Preview
We are offering a preview of the budget on Saturday, January 22 at 10:00 am. This will be a meeting on Zoom.
Join us as the Treasurer goes over the budget adopted by the vestry at its January meeting. This will be a more in-depth conversation about the budget than we will have at the meeting the following day. This is a perfect time to bring questions and to learn about the budget and the budget process.
